I believe that people and not software should be in control. I'm Dave Kilroy and have been involved in business planning and software development for a long time.

Some software tools can take a very long time to learn how to use - and the user is not in control whilst trying to figure out how to make something happen. Also, most 'expert systems' guide users down a limited set of options to reach a limited set of finish points. Whilst we love to learn new things and expert guidance is good - we need to get things done and we like to stay in control.

The way I keep people in control is by making software that is very user friendly and really useful - which in this case has resulted in great business planning software, want to buy a copy?

Business Plan Writer

Business Plan Writer came about because a group of business advisors (and their clients) needed it. It is software that grew out of, and its design was shaped by, real people using it to write their business plans.

It took many years to get right (first glimmer in Dave's eye around 2002, first prototype 2004, launched 2007 and on sale since then) and is still being improved on an on-going basis.

It is aimed at people who are writing their first business plan and is more like a comfortable and familiar tool and ally rather than a shiny new stranger that needs a lot of time to learn how to use.

Starting up and running a business can be stressful and you certainly don't need the additional headache of working out how to use business plan software. I worked as a business advisor for many years and watched how people put together business plans, and I made a software solution to fit how people work instead of creating something that they have to fit into. This natural fit makes the software better.
